Inclusion at KBZA is a journey we take hand-in-hand with families. From the moment a child joins our school, we begin building a circle of support celebrating progress, fostering resilience, and cultivating a lifelong love for learning.
At KBZA, we also celebrate diversity in all its forms. Our students are not only proud of their own differences they are taught to embrace and advocate for the differences of others. Through weekly interactive sessions, our learners engage with students of determination from local rehabilitation centers, including individuals with autism and a wide range of disabilities. These authentic, student-led sessions foster empathy, leadership, and community connection shaping our students into compassionate citizens who understand that inclusion means belonging, for everyone.
We take pride in our robust monitoring systems and the creative use of internal and external resources. Whether through assistive technology, differentiated instruction, or enrichment for gifted learners, our students are seen, heard, and empowered.

Supporting Every Learner, Every Day!

At our school, inclusion lives in our actions, not just our policies. We don’t fit students into a system, we shape the system to fit every student. And we believe that true progress is personal. Rather than comparing students to each other, we honor each child’s unique journey by measuring growth from their individual starting point. Every step forward no matter how small a milestone worth is celebrating, because progress is not defined by how far they are from others, but by how far they’ve come.
Our Inclusive Educational Approach
At KBZA, inclusion is not just what we do, it’s who we are. Our Circle of Support reflects a structured, flexible, and deeply personalized approach to nurturing every learner, guided by compassion, data-informed practice, and strong partnerships. Here’s how we support our students at every stage of their journey:
As part of our commitment to early intervention and inclusive education, the Pre-Assessment Support System offers a proactive framework to identify and support students who may benefit from additional assistance, before any formal identification process begins.
Through this system, teachers are encouraged to refer students showing signs of academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges. Once a referral is made, the Inclusion Team initiates a structured 4–6-week cycle of observation and targeted intervention. During this time, team members collaborate closely with classroom teachers to implement personalized strategies, provide relevant resources, and adapt learning environments to meet the student’s needs.
At the end of the cycle, the team evaluates progress and determines the most appropriate next steps, ranging from sustained in-class support to referrals for formal external assessments. This process ensures that every student has equitable access to the support they need to thrive in their learning journey.
Once a student is formally identified, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is collaboratively developed by the Inclusion Team in partnership with classroom teachers based on the formal assessment and tailored to meet the unique academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of the student.
A key element of our approach is meaningful family engagement. We actively involve parents and guardians through dedicated planning meetings to reflect on the student’s strengths and challenges, and co-create achievable and personalized learning goals.
To ensure the IEP remains relevant and responsive to the student’s evolving needs, it is formally reviewed every 12 consecutive weeks. These regular review cycles promote transparency, reinforce shared responsibility among educators and families, and enable continuous monitoring of progress toward targeted outcomes.
At KBZA, we believe that every student’s learning journey is unique, and we are committed to measuring growth from each individual’s starting point, celebrating every step of progress, no matter how big or small.
To ensure a holistic and responsive approach, we employ a comprehensive, multi-layered tracking system that monitors academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. This system includes:
Weekly: Student-led self-reflection activities aligned with clearly defined success criteria and personalized learning goals, fostering ownership of learning.
Monthly: Teacher monitoring sheets used to observe and document student engagement, participation, and progress against the IEP target.
Termly:
- SEBD: Reviews of social, emotional, academic and behavioral development using SEBD tracking system, ensuring that each student’s well-being and interpersonal growth are addressed.
- IEP Review: Termly review of the IEP student targets with parents and teachers.
- Standardized Assessments: Periodic standardized assessments (Reading, Spelling and Math) designed to evaluate academic achievement, identify learning gaps, and inform differentiated instruction and future planning.
To ensure that all students have equitable access to learning, we provide a range of dynamic and responsive support structures tailored to meet each learner’s unique needs. These flexible models of support are integrated into the school day and designed to promote confidence, independence, and academic growth:
Co-Teaching for Inclusion
Through co-teaching models, inclusion teachers and classroom teachers co-plan and co-teach. This collaborative approach allows for differentiated instruction, flexible grouping, and multiple teaching styles that address diverse learning needs. Students benefit from the presence of two educators who can deliver targeted support, clarify concepts, and maintain high levels of participation and understanding.
Pull-Out Sessions
For students requiring more focused or individualized support, we offer structured pull-out sessions—either in small groups or one-on-one settings. These sessions are guided by IEP goals and may focus on academic reinforcement, skill-building in literacy or numeracy, executive functioning strategies, or social-emotional development. The aim is to close learning gaps while building self-confidence and promoting well-being in a supportive environment.
Supporting the Whole Child
At KBZA, we are committed to nurturing every aspect of a child’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. Our inclusive philosophy is grounded in the belief that creating equitable learning environments requires intentional collaboration among educators, families, and students themselves. We approach this through three core pillars:
Teacher Collaboration & Professional Learning
Inclusion is a shared responsibility, and we believe that empowered educators are the foundation of inclusive classrooms. At KBZA, we provide ongoing support to help teachers build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to meet the diverse learning profiles of all students. This support is delivered through:
-Regular teacher meetings and collaborative co-planning sessions that promote the sharing of strategies, insights, and inclusive practices
-Targeted professional development workshops focused on key areas such as differentiation, understanding neurodiversity, and inclusive classroom management
These continuous learning opportunities cultivate a school-wide culture of reflection, innovation, and shared accountability—ensuring that every student has access to high-quality, inclusive instruction.
Parent Partnerships
We recognize parents as co-educators and essential partners in the learning journey.
Each term, we host interactive workshops that equip families with practical tools and knowledge to support their children at home. Topics such as:
-Student well-being and emotional regulation
-Supporting learning differences in daily routines
-Building resilience, confidence, and independence
Through these connections, we strengthen the home-school partnership and ensure continuity of support across environments. We also ensure that our Inclusion Team remains accessible and responsive, offering hands-on guidance, coaching, and case consultations whenever needed. In addition, we take parent feedback seriously, valuing their unique insights and working collaboratively to refine support strategies that reflect each child’s evolving needs.
Raising POD (People of Determination) Awareness
We are building a school-wide culture where empathy, acceptance, and inclusion are part of everyday life.
Our awareness initiatives aim not only to inform, but to transform positive mindsets and actions across the school community. These include:
-Student-led assemblies and campaigns that promote inclusion through personal storytelling and peer advocacy
-Collaborative activities with rehabilitation centers, offering authentic, empathy-building experiences
-Interactive experiences, such as role-play, sign language sessions, and inclusive visual displays that engage learners on multiple levels
-Motivational guest speakers from POD who inspire students with their real-life journeys of perseverance and achievement
-Trips and Visits to rehabilitation centers, where students participate in guided visits to local rehabilitation centers. These meaningful experiences give students the opportunity to engage with individuals of determination, celebrate differences, and develop a deeper understanding of inclusion beyond the classroom. Through dialogue, shared activities, and reflection, students learn to value diversity and foster a sense of community connection.
Our students don’t just learn about inclusion; they live it, lead it, and pass it on.
